Federation for Community Schools' Annual Meeting
This year's Federation for Community Schools Annual Open Board meeting was held on November 11th. Board members and Federation members gathered to hear Executive Director Sue Armato give a presentation of accomplishments for 2009 and upcoming goals for 2010.
The Federation is continuing to grow, representing 156 communities state-wide, and the meeting included information on: organizational highlights in four functional areas (Professional Development, Communications, Advocacy and the Elev8 Initiative), goals for the 2010 year (securing funding for community schools, keeping community schools top-of-mind for policymakers, continuing to support the growth and development of highest quality community schools and programs), and a call to action from Executive Director Sue Armato, reminding attendees that this work has been accomplished because of the work Federation members undertook to accomplish community school advocacy and policy goals, and to support highest-quality community school development by sharing your work. Sue noted that together we can do what needs to be done to keep community schools moving forward.
